How we do it?
The inside of the cheek of the tested is gently wiped with a soft cotton swab stick. Swabbing a cheek is a safe, easy way and less painful to collect the sample because almost every cell in a person’s body contains his or her unique DNA; it is important to know that DNA in the cheek cells is the same as the DNA in blood cells and provides 100% information as in the case of blood samples. Each sample is then sealed in its own envelope, labeled for identification purposes and sent to the laboratory for processing.
What do I need to do to get a Peace of Mind test kit?

To get a peace of mind paternity test, you can order it online  now or call the customer care numbers to get the kit for your sample collection.

What is the difference between a legal test and a peace of mind test?
The main difference between a legal test and a peace of mind test is how the results report can be used: results from a legal test are court-admissible while results from peace of mind test are not. Courts accept results for a legal test because a chain-of-custody process with witnessed DNA collection is followed, which ensures the correct DNA has been submitted for testing.
Does the mother need to be included in a paternity test?
In most cases, a mother’s DNA is not necessary to obtain conclusive results for a paternity test. However, there are occasions when her DNA is helpful in strengthening results, and the lab will suspend testing and request a sample from the mother.
When Can DNA Paternity Test Be Done?
Paternity Test can be done during pregnancy and after childbirth.
Can I do a home paternity test if I need results for Immigration or child custody?
No; you should not do a peace of mind paternity test if you need results for child custody, immigration or any other legal reason. Courts do not accept results unless they are from a legal DNA test that maintained a strict chain-of-custody process. If you need results for court, contact one of our specialists for a no-obligation, free consultation at 09010001990
How soon can you do a DNA test for a baby after birth?
You can do a DNA test for a baby after birth as soon as the baby has been cleaned up by hospital staff. Because a cheek swab is used, it’s important that the baby’s mouth be free from meconium, amniotic fluid, breast milk, or formula when doing the DNA collection.
What types of samples does LYNX use for a peace of mind test?
We use cheek swabs (also called buccal swabs). Cheek swabbing is a quick and painless way to collect cheek cells containing DNA. This is not a saliva test. Do not spit on the swabs. If they seem very wet, wave swabs in the air for 60 seconds prior to placing them in the paper sample envelopes.
Is there a difference in accuracy between cheek swabs and blood?
Yes! a peace of mind test can be performed without the mother. If the mom cannot, or does not want to be tested, we can still perform a home paternity test. A “motherless” test could require more extensive analysis to produce conclusive results, but the results are just as accurate as those of a standard paternity test with the mother included.
Are Peace of mind tests accurate?
Peace of mind test results are accurate for the samples provided to the laboratory. For peace of mind testing, the lab relies on test participants to make sure samples being analyzed by the lab belong to the correct people. If you do not trust other participants’ integrity with submitting correct samples, you can either make sure you’re all together in the same room during swabbing.
What happens if the tested parties live in different cities or states?
The easiest thing to do if tested parties live in different cities or states is to call us our customer care numbers to set up the test, and we’ll take care of sending DNA-collection kits to the different locations.
Do you protect my privacy?
We take our customers’ privacy very seriously: both for your case and your DNA data.
We will not release any information about your case to anyone without your authorization. We will always follow any special instructions you give us for communicating with you or other parties involved in your test. We never release test results over the phone
Legal DNA Paternity Test
Will my test results be legally binding?LYNX strictly adheres to the chain-of-custody procedure as outlined by the AABB, and this makes our test results legally defensible. More judges in more courtrooms will see our partners reports DDC than any other paternity report. Many of our patients use their test results for legal purposes such as immigration, child custody, child support, Social Security benefit claims, inheritance claims, and more. You must c all the lab directly to set up the test.
How is genetic testing done?
Testing is done using saliva.
Informed Consent: Before a person should have a genetic test, it is important that he or she fully understands the testing procedure.
During testing, the genes are separated from the rest of the DNA, and then they are scanned for abnormalities. Written informed consent is usually obtained before a genetic test is ordered. People give their consent by signing a form saying that they have been told about, and understand the purpose of the test, its medical implications, its risks and benefits, possible alternatives to the test, and their privacy rights.
Possible Outcome: Your test results may be positive, negative or uncertain.
A positive genetic test result if you’ve had a positive result, this means you have inherited an altered gene and your chance of developing breast cancer (and possibly other cancers) is far greater than the general population.
A negative genetic test result if the predictive genetic test shows that you don’t have the altered gene (a negative result), your risk of developing breast cancer is the same as women in general population. Your test results may be positive, negative or uncertain.
Having a negative result also means that any children you have, or may have in the future, won’t inherit an altered gene.
